Delicious Detox Smoothie

August 10, 2016 by Felesha 4 Comments

This delicious detox smoothie is loaded with tons of fiber, antioxidants as well as essential vitamins and nutrients. A perfect way to start the day!!

Delicious Detox Smoothie

I did a 3-day detox this past weekend and boy do I feel great!! You ever get that sluggish-heavy feeling? Are you constantly fatigued? I wanted to do a liver cleanse to help facilitate removing the toxins out of my system and start balancing out those hormones that can sometimes be a bit outrageous if you will. Did you know that eliminating toxins can also help you lose weight and even increase your energy levels to boot? Toxins-Toxins-Toxins!!! They’re certainly a drug and alcohol detox help and all around us so it’s good to do a bit of DAILY housekeeping for our bodies. Yep! Haven’t you heard??? A detox smoothie a day can help to keep that doctor away!!!

I must admit, I didn’t enjoy one smoothie that I drank during the 3-Day detox. NOT ONE!!! The plan I followed surely wasn’t the tastiest so I wanted to create something that I could enjoy on a daily basis if I wanted to with organic fuits and vegetables. I thought as long as I included some of the ingredients from the full 3 day detox, I’d be safe. I was looking for a better combination of all of the flavors if you know what I mean. I included blueberries which are loaded with antioxidants, citrus which helps with digestion, chia seeds for added fiber, spinach and kale to detox the liver, banana to aid in inflammation, pore-cleansing mango, and the absolute BEST detoxing herb…GINGER!!! YUM!!! I’ve created my own detox smoothie that is not only effective for removing years of toxins but it actually tastes great too!!

We are what we consume, right? This holds true even spiritually! A spiritual detox????

Day 1: Repent From Sin – Psalm 32:5 reads, Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.  (NLT). Rid yourself of old baggage in the form of bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness. Ephesians 4:31-32 states, Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Day 2: God’s Word instructs us to draw near to Him and allow our hearts to be cleansed. “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10 (KJV).

Day 3: Renew your mind with the Word of God. “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (NLT).

Say Grace and enjoy!!

Just a question, Felesha: this seems like a lot of food to fit in my belly! Is it really just one serving?
Thank you for the Over the Rainbow copycat Sip Juice Bar recipe; that’s how I found your page!
