This authentic Tzatziki sauce is perfect for serving with any meat or also makes a great appetizer dip!!!

Authentic Greek Tzatziki Sauce Recipe

Hubby and I visited the gorgeous islands of Mykonos and Santorini Greece during our babymoon last month. If you’re wondering what a babymoon is, it’s just the last vacation that you take before baby arrives. Or just a great excuse to take another fabulous vacation!!

Katikies Resort in Santorini, Greece

This babymoon was probably the best vacation that we’ve taken since we’ve been married, even including the beautiful  Bora Bora, Tahiti!!! We stayed at the Anax Resort and Spa in Mykonos and Katikies in Santorini where the blue waters just go on and on for days. If you’ve never been, these two resorts are a must!!

While we were in Mykonos, I insisted that we take a Grecian cooking class at Mykonian Spiti with Teta. Hubby went kicking and screaming but ended up enjoying the entire class and all of the students that participated with us.

We made a huge spread during the 6 hour course, including Stuffed Tomatoes and Peppers, Spinach Pie, Spinach Risotto and this Authentic Greek Tzatziki Sauce Recipe. Along with one other classmate, I actually won the tzatziki making contest. Teta said they were the best!! 🙂 This recipe is so easy to make and yet it adds so much flavor to various meats and other delights. In fact, I insist that you pair it with these already delicious lamb chops or on these yummy Greek tacos!!!

Best Tip on How To Make Tzatziki Sauce:

The key to great tzatziki is getting rid of all of that excess water in the cucumber. In the class, we just gave the grated cucumber a really healthy squeeze with our own hands.

It’s so important for us to take some time to rest and recharge ourselves so that we can be better instruments for the Kingdom of God. His Word says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV). Say Grace and enjoy!!

You can never go wrong with GREAT dips. This looks fanatastic….and I would slather this on burgers, kebabs and use it for a chip dip too.

I LOVE a good tzatsiki sauce. You’re right, not only is it a great dipper, but it adds some nice zing and zest to so many meals. I always have it on hand when I’m grilling lamb. Making this for the grilled lamb leg I just picked up. Awesome!

In my humble opinion, this recipe is much tastier without salt or with only a minimal amount. I recommend that you only add salt, according to taste, after stirring all the other ingredients together.

Quarter & and de-seed the cucumber before grating helps with removing the liquid, we add some dill as well, thank you!
