Hubby and I visited Disney World earlier this month and what a blast we had!!! It was my first time there. {No side eyes please}. I’m sure that I’m not the only almost 40 year old that hadn’t ever visited in LIFE!! It was such a great time! We were like kids again running to and fro!!!!
We knew that we’d only get one day there so we got the Park Hopper pass and hopped around to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. At Magic Kingdom, we enjoyed whatever we could get a FastPass for like Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, It’s A Small World, Mad Tea Party and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.
Hubby insisted that we ride the Twilight Zone Hollywood Tower, which was the highlight of Hollywood Studios but I must say that the foodie in me enjoyed Epcot the most because we visited the World Showcase and sampled cuisines from all over the world.
Although, we got to try all of these wonderful tasty dishes, I was still longing to try The Friar Nook’s, Pot Roast Macaroni & Cheese at Magic Kingdom. I didn’t care if I didn’t have one corner in my stomach left to stuff with tasty cheesy goodness.
As we rushed over to Fantasy Land, I began salivating about inhaling this exciting level of comfort food. Run Felesha, Run!!! As I approached the stand, slightly out of breath, I was sadly disappointed to find that The Friar Nook had closed early. WONK WONK WONK.
My big bubble of excitement quickly burst into proverbial tears of sorrow. How could we come all the way here and not get to try something that I’ve dreamt of for oh so long?!?!?!?
As we plodded to the Seven Dwarf line, I began thinking about recreating this delightful dish even though I had no idea exactly what it tasted like. Bummer!!! But I just had to have it so as soon as we got home, I recreated this over the top comfort meal. Let me tell you…I’m so happy that I did because I simply couldn’t put the fork down!! The macaroni & cheese was all kinda ooey-gooey, creamy, spicy and tasty! And HoneyBaked Ham’s Beef Pot Roast was so tender that it simply fell apart and made my life so much easier not having to prepare it from scratch. BINGO!!! What a delicious time-saver it was!!! Cradled with my delicious macaroni and cheese, this 30 minute meal is sure to please the entire family!!
I’m so glad to have finally experienced the wonderful world of Disney! It was an awesome time being surrounded by so many wide-eyed children trusting that their families would eventually show them an amazing time at such an amazing place of adventure.
It reminds me what the Word has to say about child-like faith. “So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” – Matthew 18:4 {NLT}. This simplistic like faith doesn’t try to analyze and make sense of everything. When you share something with a child, they believe it and hold on to and we’ll even go as far as to remind you exactly what you told them.
Do you possess this child-like kinda faith? I encourage you and say that whatever God has promised you, don’t doubt Him no matter how your circumstances may appear as He is faithful to perform exactly what He promises us. Say Grace and enjoy!!

I am a little confused, there are mentions of both honey baked ham, and a pot roast. Do you use both or just the pot roast?
Felesha says
Just the pot roast. The Pot Roast is The Honey Baked Ham Brand.

Omg! Finally someone made a copycat of this! I have searched high and low, and this is the only one I’ve found that has come the closest to the Nook! I Am trying to understand what honeybakrd ham pot roast is so I can find it and make it?!

Hi Jackie! You can purchase this Beef Pot Roast at any Honey Baked Ham location. Most times the Beef Pot Roasts are located in the freezer section and sometimes they have 1 or 2 out in the refrigerated section. Let me know how it turns out for you. 🙂

This looks amazing and I’m anxious to give it a try, but we live up north and I’ve never heard of “Honey Baked Ham locations”, can you recommend another brand of beef roast to try. Thanks! 🙂
Felesha says
Hi Tamera! I wish I could recommend another brand but I am very picky about pot roast as it has to be just right. HoneyBaked sells them in their online store. Check it out here:
