The only Southern Turnip Greens recipe you’ll ever need! Be sure to pair them with my popular Hot Water Cornbread!!
Auntee Gail came from Huntsville, Alabama to attend our gender reveal party about a month ago. During her visit, Jimmie requested that she make her famous turnip greens!! She must have made them about 3 times while she was here.
Everyone just fell in love with them! If you’re not familiar with turnips, they are simply a root vegetable which has a similar texture to potatoes.
This turnip greens recipe really doesn’t need any accompaniment other than a nice and fresh side of hot water cornbread!! Ummm boy!!!! You could also try mixing them in with some mashed potatoes as well for a tasty treat.
Turnip greens are so easy to work with and are very forgiving. I think they’re actually a bit more tender than collard greens. They are certainly the perfect comfort food!!
How To Make Turnip Greens
Speaking of comfort…are you searching? Just want to let you know that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob wants to be your Comforter if you’ll allow Him. Won’t you let Him in? He sent His Son, Jesus just for you!
Pray this simple prayer, “Dear Heavenly Father, I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sins Lord. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He died for my sins and You raised Him from the dead. I want to invite Him into my heart to take control of my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.” Say Grace and enjoy!
